About Elizabeth A. Hoffman
Elizabeth Hoffman was destined to be a lawyer.
"I have always had a strong concern for fairness and equity,” she notes, “and law is a profession where you can engage in meaningful work that promotes these values. My career has been an opportunity to put those principles into practice on a daily basis, one deserving client at a time.”
That Liz has done so with such poise and polish and professional success is a tribute to the intellect and skill of this Seattle-based attorney, who insists she is committed to serving as a resource not only to her clients but also to the community at large. In her off hours, Liz lives that commitment by mentoring attorney volunteers who represent low-income persons involved in family law matters where children are at risk. Many of these clients, she notes, are victims of domestic violence.
In her daily work, this Super Lawyers Rising Star® devotes her energy to “informing and empowering my clients to achieve the best possible outcomes.” Emotions are frequently “complicated and running high,” she concedes, particularly when children are involved.
"The most satisfying aspect of my work comes when I can offer clients a bit of relief and some insight into what’s going to happen—when I can walk with them through the difficult, often painful dissolution process and help them get to a place where life is fundamentally different, but better. This isn’t just a legal case for the people I represent. It’s their life.”
Known for her flawless preparation of cases, her attention to detail, her command of the law, and her respect for all parties involved in every case, Liz joined McKinley Irvin in 2012 because, she says, she wanted to be challenged and enriched by collaborating with some of the finest family law attorneys in the state.
"I get to work on complex and interesting cases,” she adds, “with equally complex and interesting people.”
