Getting to Know Christa Melton

Attorney Christa Melton joined our Everett office in 2021. We learned more about Christa and how she approaches her law practice in a brief Q&A session.

What is the most valuable thing you do for your clients?

I bring compassion and integrity into my practice. It is important to me that my clients know that I hear them, respect them, and am willing to go to bat for them.

What is your personal motto?

“The only time I set the bar low is for limbo.” – Michael Scott

What are you most proud of on your resume?

Volunteering with the Moderate Means Program instilled in me the importance of compassionate advocacy, particularly when dealing with clients who have experienced trauma, domestic violence, or other conflict. I believe this is an important attribute for family law attorneys to take into their practice, as we help people navigate through really difficult times in their lives.

What’s something you want your clients to know about you?

I will always approach this job with integrity, professionalism, and empathy. I am not going to “hide-the-ball” from them or disappear on them when they need me.

If you weren’t a lawyer, what would you be?

If I wasn’t an attorney, I would be a novelist. I love reading, writing, and using words to make people’s stories come to life.

What is your most meaningful accomplishment?

One of my more meaningful, non-work-related accomplishments was summiting Mount St. Helens last summer. I spent many weekends training for this and was proud of myself for accomplishing that goal.

On Sunday mornings, you can usually find me...

You can find me at the farmer’s market, on a hike with my dog, or reading a book with an extra-large cup of coffee.
